A great 2 day backpacking trip with the girls and a few friends was tha cap to a great summer of adventres from hiking at the coast with Opa to sailing the seven seas (ok it was only one lake, koocanusa!) It was a great year to turn 10 for Fynley, a great summer for Anja to turn 8 and an interesting time for the kuijts to get a new puppy!

We hope everybody in the world is as lucky as we are and that we can spend time with all the luck folks we know!

Saturday, April 25th Snowing again today with winter just not giving up! Nikki should be back from the coast last night and we are hoping to get out to visit her today or tomorow but not great if the weather is poor so may not go.

Great looking website. I couldn't figure out how to add content on the calendar under Ian's name, and I don't have time to try a different browser (I was trying to enter our schedule...). But I will when I have another moment.

I've been trying to call to touch base about summer visiting, and let you know what our plans are so far for Europe. Our schedule right now looks like this:

SPAGHETTI PANCAKE
Serves four

3 cups cooked spaghetti noodles
4 eggs, lightly beaten
1 tsp salt, or to taste
black pepper to taste
butter or oil for frying, at least 1 tsp
Optional add-ins, as desired: chopped fresh herbs, diced tomatoes, proscuitto or bacon, cheese, small diced vegetables such as zucchini (dice very small so it will cook through), minced onion or garlic.

Children and grand children gathered in Fernie this week to celebrate Megs the 70th birthday. Youngest son Tom from Thunder Bay, wife Karen and 2 kids car pooled with Dennis and arrived early in the weekend.  Toms brother Jeff, wife Kate and 3 kids arrived in the afternoon the next day. Janet, husband Steve and 2 kids already living in Fernie helped host this momentous occasion. 

Today we went to the ski hill here in Fernie. My family lagged behind constantly, causing me to slow down and wait every few feet. I mean really, how inconsiderate... I had loads of fun rippin down that hill on my snowboard, and I'm sure Patrick, Charlotte, Mother and Father enjoyed there skis. It was a beautiful spring day, full of sunshine and clear skies, perfect for skiing.

hey we're in fernie and it's nice and warm. Uncle Steve took Patrick across a stream in a ditch and the snow collapsed, soaking Patrick. We had burgers for dinner, they were pretty delicious.
